Reporting an incident of sexual harassment or assault isn't always enough. On top of reporting incidents through HarassMap for Wise 4 Afrika, a doctor, or local authorities, there are different tools to defend one's self from further victimization. On Monday, December 9, 2019, Wise 4 Afrika advocated for individuals to stand with survivors of gender-based violence. As a friend or a confidant of the survivor, being present during the times where a report is being made is the kind of support needed. In addition, a simple vote of confidence through saying, "I believe her" or hashtagging this whenever a survivor speaks out is an action that we can all take to further support survivors of gender-based violence.
Take #wiseAction by standing with survivors of gender-based violence!
